At Anchor Legacy Foundation, we are committed to catalyzing positive change through our impactful initiatives. Currently, we are deeply involved in a transformative project with Greater Are You Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Diepsloot, South Africa. For over seven years, our partnership has been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape of the community. Through various initiatives, including school repairs, youth upskilling workshops, and mentoring programs, we have worked tirelessly to empower the community and nurture future generations. Our latest endeavor with Greater Are You ECD marks a significant milestone in our journey, as we strive to expand access to quality education and create lasting positive change.
Our primary objective with Greater Are You ECD is to expand the school’s capacity from accommodating 40 students to 100 students. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and through this expansion, we aim to reach more children in need, providing them with a strong foundation for future success.
To ensure a conducive learning environment, we are undertaking extensive renovations at the school property. This includes crucial upgrades such as waterproofing, painting, plastering, and roofing. By bringing the infrastructure up to code, we are creating a safe and inspiring space where children can thrive and learn.
We understand the pivotal role of teachers in shaping young minds. As part of our initiative, we are providing resources for enhanced teacher training and recruitment. By investing in the professional development of educators, we aim to elevate the quality of education provided at Greater Are You ECD, ultimately benefiting the students and the community at large.
Recognizing the financial constraints faced by many families in the community, especially single-parent households, we are committed to providing relief through our bursary program. Our goal is to offer at least 60% of the students with a 50% bursary, covering a significant portion of their school fees. Additionally, we are financing the provision of two solid meals for the children while they are at school, ensuring they receive proper nutrition for optimal growth and development.
